A Delta plane experienced a frightening incident when it caught fire shortly after landing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The Airbus A321neo had just arrived from Cancun, Mexico, with 189 passengers onboard when the incident occurred. Aviation authorities will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire and implement any necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

A newly released video captured the moment the front of the plane burst into flames, prompting the evacuation of all passengers via emergency slides. The fire originated in the nose area of the aircraft, caused by sparks generated from an electrical cord that the plane had plugged into after landing, according to officials.

Passengers were swiftly evacuated, and those who deplaned onto the ramp returned to the terminal via the ramp stairs, a spokesperson confirmed. All passengers proceeded to customs in the International Arrivals Facility for regular processing. The aircraft has been taken out of service for inspection and maintenance.

Surveillance footage from the scene shows the fire rapidly spreading at the front of the plane, accompanied by billowing black smoke. The doors of the aircraft open, and passengers can be seen exiting, some walking onto the wings to reach a staircase leading down to the tarmac. First responders quickly gather around the front of the plane to address the situation.

“Passengers were fully evacuated, and those deplaned to the ramp returned to the terminal via the ramp stairs,” a spokesperson said and added, “All passengers exited to customs in the International Arrivals Facility for regular processing. The aircraft has been removed from service for inspection and maintenance.”
